ALEBA has working groups or "Committees", each in charge of a different thematic area.
The Finance Committee ensures the sound management of ALEBA's financial resources, which come exclusively from the membership subs paid by the 10,000 members who support us. The committee also ensures that ALEBA uses its resources efficiently and has the necessary wherewithal to act.
The role of ALEBA's Communication Commissionis to coordinate all of our external communication with the public and the media, but especially with our members. It also supports our Union Reps by providing them with the resources and skills to communicate effectively on behalf of ALEBA in their companies.
This committee is chaired by Jean-Philippe Mansard, a member of the Executive Committee and in charge of Communication at ALEBA (contact information is available on the "Executive Committee" page).
In October 2014, ALEBA set up a new committee to deal with issues relating to cross-border workers. Luxembourg currently has 183,548 such employees, i.e. more than 45% of all salaried jobs.
In particular, the outcome of bilateral agreements between countries bordering the Grand Duchy, tax returns, taxation issues in bordering countries for missions abroad, remote working (an important issue in the context of the future exchange of information), retirement issues, and amendments to laws directly affecting the status of cross-border workers.
Thematic evening events with guest experts are also being organised. Documentation specially dedicated to cross-border workers will soon be available here.
From now on, please contact Patrice Collin and the members of the Cross-Border Committee for all your questions concerning the status of cross-border workers, preferably by email at: frontaliers@ALEBA.lu or by telephone on 00 33 6 80 30 16 50
